Олександр Вернігоров народився 6 лютого 1990 року у Дніпрі. Випуксник Дніпропетровського регіонального інституту державного управління Національної академії державного управління при Президентові України.

Багато років Олександр Вернігоров працював на дніпровських телеканалах, зокрема оператором «9 каналу», згодом - на телеканалі «Відкритий», який став його останнім місцем роботи перед військовою службою.

У липні 2022 року Олександр Вернігоров добровільно долучився до лав Сил оборони України. Відтоді служив на передовій.

Олександр Вернігоров загинув 28 червня 2026 року під час виконання бойового завдання на Харківському напрямку.

Ірина Шевченко

Circumstances of death: During shelling

Ірина Шевченко народилася 13 жовтня 2000 року. Була випускницею Андріяшівського ліцею на Сумщині. Випускниця Глухівського педагогічного університету, у якому здобула спеціальність «Початкова освіта». Після завершення навчання працювала вчителькою рідного Андріяшівського ліцею.

25-річна Ірина Шевченко загинула в ніч на 3 липня 2026 року внаслідок російської атаки на Ромни Сумської області. Російський ударний безпілотник влучив у будинок, де перебувала її родина. Разом з Іриною загинула її донька Софія, якій виповнилося один рік і сім місяців. Чоловік Ірини зазнав поранень, намагаючись врятувати дружину й дитину.

Іван Трембовецький народився 18 лютого 1983 року. Працював на телебаченні, зокрема був випусковим редактором телеканалу ТЕТ, раніше працював на телеканалі «2+2». У 2014 році, після початку російської агресії проти України, став одним із перших серед працівників медіагрупи 1+1 media, хто долучився до лав Збройних сил України.

Служив у складі 95-ї окремої десантно-штурмової бригади. Брав участь у боях за Піски та Дебальцеве, обороняв Донецький аеропорт. Мав позивний «Кіборг» і військове звання молодшого сержанта.

Після початку повномасштабного російського вторгнення Іван Трембовецький знову став до лав ЗСУ. Служив у розвідці та підрозділах безпілотних систем. Протягом останніх трьох років служив у Головному управлінні розвідки Міністерства оборони України, незадовго до загибелі перевівся до 8-го армійського корпусу 238-го окремого батальйону безпілотних систем «Чорний яструб».

Також був нагороджений орденом «За мужність» III ступеня Указом Президента України №22/2023 від 13 січня 2023 року.

Іван Трембовецький загинув у 2026 році у віці 43 років під час виконання бойового завдання. Про його загибель 5 липня повідомили колеги з медіагрупи 1+1 media.

Павло Курапов

Павло Курапов народився 1 серпня 1994 року у Стрию на Львівщині. Випускник Національного університету «Львівська політехніка» за спеціальністю «Математичне і комп'ютерне моделювання». 2023 року здобув ступінь доктора філософії з прикладної математики, захистивши дисертацію з взаємоспектрального аналізу періодично нестаціонарних випадкових процесів.

У Фізико-механічному інституті ім. Г. В. Карпенка НАН України пройшов шлях від інженера до молодшого наукового співробітника. Був автором і співавтором 19 наукових праць, опублікованих у міжнародних виданнях та матеріалах конференцій.

Після початку повномасштабного вторгнення росії Павло займався волонтерською діяльністю, а у вересні 2025 року був мобілізований до лав Збройних сил України. Служив оператором безпілотних літальних апаратів роти ударних авіаційних комплексів.

24 червня 2026 року 31-річний Павло Курапов загинув під час виконання бойового завдання поблизу села Семереньки Сумської області.

Ігор Ходжаніязов

Ігор Ходжаніязов народився 13 березня 1990 року у Вінниці. Випускник Вінницького національного технічного університету за спеціальністю "програміст".

Відомий як поет, перекладач, музикант, дослідник історії традиційної музики. Разом із друзями-однодумцями заснував літературне угруповання «Новий шинок». З 2014 року – активний учасник поетичної Першої кави в кнайп-клубі «Купідон». З перекладами Ґреґорі Корсо став фіналістом конкурсу Metaphora (2015–2016). Як дослідник започаткував канал "Анонімний автор 18 століття".

Також Ігор Ходжаніязов був активним учасником музичної сцени. Зокрема, грав у вінницькому емо-гурті Dollores, згодом у гурті Mashala Doza – одному із небагатьох проєктів в Україні, який виконує македонські, болгарські, турецькі, сербські та українські пісні, і єдиний проект, який грає музику ребетіко. Ігор Ходжаніязов освоїв гру на грецькому бузукі.

28 червня 2026 року 36-річний Ігор Ходжаніязов загинув під час виконання бойового завдання, від прямого влучання КАБа.

Олександр Клітченко народився 19 травня 1975 року в Дубні. Спочатку здобув вищу освіту в Рівненському державному гуманітарному університеті за спеціальністю «менеджмент невиробничої сфери». Згодом вступив до аспірантури в Києво-Могилянській академії, став кандидатом політологічних наук. Працював науковим співробітником Національного інституту проблем міжнародної безпеки. Водночас був учасником Хорової капели "Почайна".

У червні 2025 року Олександр був призваний до лав ЗСУ, служив у складі військової частини 9937 Державної прикордонної служби. 8 червня 2026 року 51-річний Олександр Клітченко загинув під час виконання бойового завдання на Харківщині.

Володимир Брославський

Володимир Брославський народився 22 квітня 1979 року в місті Бережанах на Тернопільщині. Випускник історичного факультету Тернопільського педагогічного інституту, очолював під час навчання науково-видавничий відділ історичного факультету «Літопис».

Від 2004 року очолював раду молодих вчених і спеціалістів Тернопільського національного педагогічного університету. У подальшому обіймав керівні посади в адміністрації: від 2006 року був начальником відділу виховної роботи, а від 2013 року — відділу в справах молоді.

У 2012 році став засновником освітнього порталу «Академія». Від грудня 2014 року був керівником ГО «Інститут модернізації суспільства». Автор наукових праць з історії та права. Активно долучився до становлення проєкту «Історія адвокатури України». Співпрацював із Центром досліджень адвокатури і права НААУ, зокрема відповідав за підготовку фахівців у галузі адвокатської біографістики.

Протягом 2015–2016 років як доброволець брав участь у бойових діях у складі 56-ї окремої мотопіхотної бригади, де командував відділенням у гаубичному дивізіоні. З 2019 року - резервіст 105-ї окремої бригади територіальної оборони, у якій від початку широкомасштабного російського вторгнення виконував бойові завдання на різних напрямках.

Проходив службу в розрахунку зенітної установки, згодом — у підрозділі контрдиверсійної боротьби на Донеччині та Харківщині. Пізніше у складі мінометної батареї брав участь у боях на сході України та Сумщині.

20 вересня 2025 року 46-річний Володимир Брославський загинув поблизу села Лугівці на Сумщині, рятуючи життя побратимів.

Водночас Ярослав Ковель - Козак Гром - навчав дітей та підлітків володінню козацькою шаблею в запорізькій школі "Спас" і був інструктором Всеукраїнської федерації СПАС із шабельного бою.

2022 року Ярослав Ковель долучився до лав 15 бригади особливого призначення НГУ Кара-Даг. У січні 2024 року захисник перебував на бойовому завданні під Малою Токмачкою, звідки надійшла звістка, що він безвісти зник.

У травні 2026 року рідні та колеги 46-річного Ярослава Ковеля отримали підтвердження про його загибелі.

Ярослав "Варнак" Іванов народився 6 квітня 2003 року на Полтавщині. Займався музикою, зокрема працював його музичний стиль поєднував елементи сучасного репу й фонку (Phonk), аж до драм-н-бейсу. 2024 року він випустив мініальбом «Have a Good War!», який українські слухачі обговорювали на рівні найкращих релізів року. Рядки з його пісні «Юність проходить – приходять бойові» для багатьох стали маніфестом покоління. Окрім того, писав художню прозу. За свідченням письменника Євгена Ліра, Ярослав завершив своєрідний щоденник власного дорослішання у художній формі та працював над другою книжкою — протокіберпанком про Україну.

До захисту України Ярослав Іванов долучився на початку повномасштабного вторгнення: з 2022 року він воював у складі легендарної 93-ї окремої механізованої бригади «Холодний Яр». Згодом отримав посаду у десантно-штурмових військах. З 2025 року боронив Україну у складі роти радіоелектронної боротьби (РЕБ) 3-ї окремої штурмової бригади.

31 травня 2026 року Ярослав "Варнак" Іванов загинув на фронті під час виконання бойового завдання.

У 2024 році долучилася до лав ЗСУ. Зокрема Вікторія Боброва служила офіцеркою відділення комунікацій у військовій частині А4267 10 окремої гірсько-штурмової бригади "Едельвейс". 24 квітня 2026 року родина та колеги 32-річної Вікторії Бобрової повідомили про її загибель на фронті.

Dmytro Siryk was born on 30 November 1986 in Siverskodonetsk (Luhansk region). After the occupation of the city in 2014, he temporarily moved to Kyiv. He dreamed of returning lo free Luhansk and re-establish Ukrainian broadcasting there. After the territory was de-occupied in 2015, Dmytro returned to his native city and resumed his work at the Radio Pulse. In the meantime, he also worked as a school psychologist.

Dmytro Siryk had worked on radio for over 15 years. He was a DJ, music editor, presenter. His audience knew him under his nom d’artiste Ivan Lopata. For the last years of his career he worked for Suspilne - among his other activities, he hosted the radio show Rewind («Перемотка») dedicated to the history of Ukrainian music.

In early March 2022, Dmytro voluntarily took up arms to defend Ukraine at the frontline. First, he served in the Kharkiv region, then – in the Donetsk region. He was a sniper within a mechanized battalion. On 20 April 2023, Dmytro Siryk (36) was killed in artillery shelling near Avdiivka (Donetsk region).

Ihor Malakhov was born on 26 May 1966 in Kyiv. He graduated from National Mykhailo Drahomanov Pedagogical University (then Kyiv State Maksim Gorki Pedagogical Institute) as a history teacher; later he helped create history show Yarylo for the UTZ TV Channel.

In 1992, he traveled to Rome with pilgrims and made a serial documentary A Journey to the Heart of Europe («Подорож до серця Європи») about places related to the students of Kyiv Brotherhood School. The film has not survived.

In 1993, he entered the VGIK and graduated in 1998 as a film director. His supervisors there were Oleksandr Kochetkov who used to work with Oleksandr Dovzhenko as a frontline cameraman, and Maryna Babak.

Due to the perestroika and the disclosure of non-secret archives, Ihor Malakhov received access to materials related to the history of Ukraine and Kyiv. As a historian, he was especially interested in the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents (aka Krasnohorsk archive). Thanks to his professional training, he was able to study the documents that aren’t yet available in Ukraine. His ex-fellow history students helped him to partly redeem these materials on Ukraine for his future film Your Own Fate. A Dream («Своя доля. Сон»).

That film was recognized in 1997-1998 by festivals such as Molodist, St. Anne (an open festival of debut and students’ films, Russia), Media Wave (Hungary), Golden Gate (San-Francisco, USA).

Ihor Malakhov worked as the deputy director of Kyiv Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio, and he was in charge of young Ukrainian cinema. It was during his term of office that films such as Car Washers («Мийники автомобілів») by Volodymyr Tykhyi and Mamai («Мамай») by Oles Sanin were released.

From the year 2001 to 2014, Ihor Malakhov worked in Russia as a film editor.

In March 2014, he returned to Ukraine due to Russia’s military aggression. As a member of the creative association of Ukrainian documentary Filmmakers Babylon13, he made films such as Beautiful («Красива»), The Accusers («Карателі»), Shelter («Сховище»), Sloviansk. Checkpoint («Слов’янськ. Блокпост»), Talisman («Талісман»), Interrogation («Допит»), Why Am I Here? («Чому я тут?»), Mournful («Скорботне»)

In 2015, he worked on the documentary films The Voice of Donbas («Голос Донбасу») and Maryinka. Frontline («Мар’їнка. Передній край»)

In 2016, he made the documentary film Music Lessons («Уроки музики») that became a laureate of Odesa Film Festival.

In 2018, Malakhov finished his work on the documentary film Odesa, Utiosova St., 14 («Одеса, Утьосова 14») about what does the city of Odesa look like today.

In 2019, he made the documentary film How War Began. Chronicles. Witnesses («Як почалася війна. Хроніки. Свідки»).

In 2023, he voluntarily enlisted in the army. On 23 December 2023, his group went on a combat mission near Avdiivka, but they never returned. Since then, Ihor Malakhov (57) had been considered missing. In April 2026, after the return of Ukrainian military servicepeople’s bodies, his death was confirmed by a DNA expertise.

Yevhenii Solovei worked as a cameraman on TV. In 2011, he joined the 1+1 media company, and he was part of the TSN news team and documented socially important events in Ukraine.

Since the beginning of Russia’s aggression in 2014, he covered the war in the Ukrainian East.

After Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Yevhenii Solovei voluntarily took up arms to defend Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and he served as a drone operator.

On 27 March 2026, Yevhenii Solovei was killed in action.

Artur Petrov was born on April 10, 1985, in Dnipro. In 2007, he graduated from the Dnipro National Oles Honchar University.

Before his military service, Artur Petrov was a recognized standup comedian and screenwriter of TV and film comedy projects. For over 7 years, he had been part of the Underground Standup. He also participated in TV shows such as Make a Comedian Laugh, Goodnight Club and A Million-Worth Comedian. He was also the screenwriter of the project I Am Ashamed of My Own Body and partook in the Standup project produced by the Radio Promin.

In April 2025, Artur Petrov joined the Defense Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 43rd separate mechanized brigade. On 18 March 2026, Artur Petrov (40) was killed in Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kharkiv region during the evacuation of the wounded.

After having graduated, he worked at the Revutskyi Chapel, Kyiv Opera, Kyiv Music Institute and Song and Dance Ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In 2025, Ihor Liubymenko was mobilized into the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. Since 7 March 2025 he had been considered missing.

Ihor Liubymenko’s death was officially confirmed in March 2026. He was 39 years old.

At the end of 2022, he joined the Defense Forces of Ukraine. On 26 February 2026, Oleh Fomichenko-Zakutskyi, aged 36, was killed in action in Pokrovsk.

Bohdan Pidhornyi was born in the Poltava region. In 2019, he graduated from the Poltava National V. H. Korolenko Pedagogical University, namely the faculty of Ukrainian philology and journalism.

Bohdan Pidhornyi did research in local history, embroidery, and printing on canvas; documented Ukrainian folklore with special emphasis on that of Novi Sanzhary, made boards for printing on canvas, wax candles, and played the tambourine.

Bohdan Pidhornyi was killed in action on 2 March 2026.

Ivan Ivanets was born on 10 June 1999 in Kyiv. In 2024, he graduated from Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and TV as a newscaster and TV presenter. He also mastered other creative professions such as acting skills, directing, journalism, playwriting, scenic art, and the skills of a cameraman.

At the beginning of the full-scale war, he survived the occupation of Bucha and was actively involved in humanitarian volunteering. Later he enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On 26 February 2026, Ivan Ivanets, aged 26, was killed in action by a hostile drone.

Vadym Tykhonovskyi was born on 21 November 1996 in Kyiv. He graduated as a director of photography and cameraman from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, and he is the author of the short feature film Sonia.

In 2019, he participated in the film photography festival Kinooko with his film Creation ("Створення"). He also worked as a photographer, especially focused on making a series of reportages from Kyiv theater performances and art exhibitions, including the Biennale of Stagecraft. Critics mentioned Tykhonovskyi’s remarkable style of making photo portraits.

After the beginning of the full-scale war, Vadym Tykhonovskyi was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. First, he served in the 78th Separate Airborne Assault Regiment, then in the 225th Separate Assault Regiment as a drone operator. He went missing on 22 July 2025 near the village of Kindrativka (Sumy region) while performing an offensive operation. The death of Vadym Tykhonovskyi (29) was officially confirmed in February 2026.

Serhii Fisun was born on 20 January 1979 in Kolomyia. His father was a military serviceman. For a long time, the family had lived in Kharkiv. Serhii graduated from Kharkiv National Vasyl Karazin University as a historian. He had worked for Kharkiv TV and media, and he possessed membership in the National Journalists’ Union of Ukraine.

Serhii’s father was wounded in the course of the Revolution of Dignity, and Serhii took his place. He was a photo correspondent; after the occupation of Crimea and the beginning of the war in 2014, he enlisted in the Air Assault Forces where he attained the rank of lieutenant. Later, he passed additional training in Kharkiv National Aerial Forces University and became a second lieutenant. He served in different units of the Air Assault Forces.

Serhii Fisun, a 47-year-old officer of the Air Assault Forces was killed by a hostile Lancet missile on the Sloviansk-Kharkiv highway on 5 February 2026.

For his distinction in combat, Serhii was awarded departmental and team awards as well as award service weapon.

Serhii Zaitsev (nom d’artiste Serhii Stepovyk) was born in 1990 in the city of Nikopol (Dnipro region). Since his early youth, he had found himself interested in Ukrainian Cossack history and patriotic literature. He graduated as a historian from Lviv National Ivan Franko University where later he began to work as an assistant professor at the Department of Local History. He had also worked for the Archaeological Rescue Service at the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2010, Zaitsev had been based in Lviv.

After the Revolution of Dignity, Serhii voluntarily enlisted in the army. At first he had served in the Kyiv 2 battalion, later transferred to the 10th mountain assault brigade.

After demobilization, Serhii defended his PhD. He made a significant contribution into the studies of Ukrainian national struggle for independence in 1917-1921. He was also an exquisite poet and prose writer.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Serhii joined the army again within the ranks of the 60th separate mechanized Inhulets brigade.

Senior lieutenant Serhii Zaitsev (32), call sign “Historian”, was killed by a Russian sniper on 28 December 2022 in the village of Klishchiivka (Donetsk region).

In 2026, Bilka Publishing House is planning to print out Serhii’s historical novel A Carpenter’s Offspring, written in 2017. The book tells the story of the locals’ fight against the Bolshevik occupation in the district of Nilopol. The author’s grand grandparents participated in these events, so for him, the novel is part of his family history and memory.

Vitalii Kyrkach-Antonenko

Vitaliy Kyrkach-Antonenko was born on 15 February 1987 in Sloviansk and lived in the village of Maidan (Donetsk region). He graduated from Donetsk National Vasyl Stus University. He worked as a ceramist – he made exclusive handmade jewelry in his own studio. His works were quite popular abroad.

In 2014-2015, he was actively involved in volunteering and helped to provide equipment for the 95 th brigade and other units.

In 2022, after the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily enlisted in the army.
While digging trenches near Sloviansk, Vitalii and his friends in arms found a thousand-years-old handmill, sickle, axe, adz, casket handle and knife. These archaeological findings were all transferred to a local history museum’s collection. Vitalii participated in the liberation of Lyman.

Vitalii Kyrkach-Antonenko (35) was killed in a mortar attack near Svatove (Luhansk region). He was posthumously awarded the Medal for Military Service to Ukraine.

Mykola Dziak was born on 7 February 1985. In 2002-2008, he studied preventive medicine at Dnipro Medical Academy.

In 2009-2012, he did a PhD in General Hygiene. Since 2013, he had worked as a professor at the Department of Hygiene and Ecology of Dnipro Medical Academy. In 2016, he defended his PhD in Ecology and published over 37 scientific works.

Mykola Dziak was alco actively involved in developing independent rock music in Dnipro. He was a co-founder and soloist of indie bands such as The Third Planet Mystery (2008-2015) and The Griboedov House (since 2011).

In 2022, Mykola Dziak enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a lieutenant of medical service. In December 2025, he was heavily wounded in action. Doctors fought for his life for three weeks, but on 27 January 2026, Mykola Dziak (40) passed away.

Oleksii Voitiuk was born on 18 March in Rivne. Alumnus of Rivne Institute of Slavic Studies within Kyiv Slavistic University, he was a famous archaeologist, restorator and scholar. He managed numerous archaeological expeditions in Volyn. In 2019, he headed the Department of Ancient History and the Middle Ages at Rivne Regional Museum of Local History.

In February 2022, Oleksii Voitiuk voluntarily enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In March 2023, he went missing near Bakhmut.

On 12 January 2026, his family received the official confirmation of his death.

Pavlo Babii was born on 12 July 1996. He graduated from Kherson music school №3. Since April 2021, he had worked at Kherson philharmonic. After having graduated from the music academy, he worked at the Gileya chamber orchestra and was very actively involved in the city’s artistic life.

On 29 December 2025, 29-year-old Pavlo Babii (call sign “Violinist”) was killed in action.

Lana “Sati” Chornohorska was born on 13 September 1999 in Zaporizhzhia. She studied in Dnipro, and she lived in different Ukrainian cities, but it was in Kharkiv where she began her career as a journalist, artist and activist. In 2020-2021, she was part of Lyuka – an independent media to introduce contemporary culture to Kharkiv audience, cover urban processes and challenges in the artistic sphere.

In 2024, Lana enlisted in the Ukrainian Volunteer Army as a drone operator.

On 1 January 2026, Lana Chornohorska (26) was killed in the Southern direction by a hostile drone.

Kostiantyn Shtyfurak was born on 8 March 1985 in Vinnytsia. He graduated as a historian from Vinnytsia State M. Kotsiubynskyi Pedagogical University. Later, he also graduated from Kyiv National Karpenko-Karyi University of Theater, Cinema and TV as a filmmaker. He worked as a filmmaker and journalist.

In summer 2022, Kostiantyn Shtyfurak enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Me was a drone squad commander within the 54th separate mechanized brigade. He bore the Medal for Military Service to Ukraine.

On 16 December 2025, Kostiantyn Shtyfurak (40) was killed in action.

Yurii Kostyshyn, a.k.a. Kit Kharakternyk, was born on 10 March 1977 in Ternopil. He graduated from Ternopil National Volodymyr Hnatiuk Pedagogical University as a geography teacher.

In 2015, he voluntarily enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 93rd separate mechanized brigade Kholodnyi Yar. After the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he took up arms again. He fought within the ranks of the 44th separate artillery brigade, and he participated in the defense of Kyiv, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. He is also famous for making photos of his daily frontline routine and organizing exhibitions of military pgotographs.

Yurii Kostyshyn’s photographs were used in the artbook «#4.5.0». He was part of the collective audiobook The Unbreakable with his recitation of Yurii Ruf’s poem In Black and White. Kostyshyn’s friends organized exhibitions of his photographs in Ukraine and abroad. In 2024, his photos were exhibited in Vilnius. 2026 is the year when his book Haveagoodnight ("Абидобраніч") had to be published.

Ivan Kononenko was born on 26 July 1983. He was a veterinarian by training, having graduated from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

He was active in his civic and athletic life, and he belonged to Vasyl Virastiuk’s weightlifting team.

Ivan was also passionate about acting. He participated in TV and cinema projects such as The Cossack Christmas, The People’s Servant, The First Robins, Mad Wedding, The Serf, Kyiv by Day and by Night, Real Mystic etc.

At the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Ivan enlisted in the Territorial Defense Forces in Kyiv’s Holosiiv district. He was heavily wounded in November 2022 and underwent almost a year’s ling rehabilitation.

Later, he signed his contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and, after being promoted to senior lieutenant, he commanded a riflemen platoon of the military department А1815.

Since 25 February 2025, Ivan Kononenko (41) had been considered missing. According to the information from the Memory platform, he went out of touch in action near the locality of Ingulski in the Kursk oblast of the Russian Federation. In early December 2025, his family received the confirmation of his death.

Oleksandr Shabanov was born on 20 October 1998 in Rubizhne, Luhansk region. Before his military service, he worked as a DJ.

In November 2018, Oleksandr, aged 20, enlisted in the Ukrainian army. He served in the hottest spots of the ATO and later – those of the full-scale war. He fought for Izium, Bakhmut, Soledar, Chasiv Yar, he kept the defense in the Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv directions.

In April 2022, his mother died during her evacuation from the Kharkiv region.

In 2024, after finishing his training, Oleksandr became a pilot. On 25 November 2025, Oleksandr Shabanov (27) was killed in action in the Kharkiv region.

Valentyn Riabets was born on 17 January 1998 in Poltava. He graduated from the local school №29. In 2015, he entered Lviv National Academy of Arts and graduated in 2019 as a pyrographer. Since 2021, he had worked at the Lviv branch of the National Scientific Restoration center of Ukraine.

On 20 August 2024, he was mobilized to Azov where he served as an electronic countermeasures operator. He had the rank of a senior soldier.

27-year-old Valentyn Riabets died of combat wounds in the Dnipro Regional I. Mechnikov Clinic Hospital on 27 November 2025.

Valerii Lytvyn was born on December 16, 1988, in Kyiv. He graduated from P. Chubynskyi Art Academy, and he was a talented violinist. In his civilian life, he also worked as a sound engineer at Kyiv Academic Ukrainian Folklore Theater “Berehynia”.

He voluntarily enlisted in the Ukrainian army on February 24, 2022. His activities in the military were mostly drone-related. Valerii Lytvyn (36) was killed in action in December 2025.

Vasyl Khomko was born in 1980. In his civilian life, he worked on TV and in advertising. One of his most popular projects is travel show Heads and Tails.

Khomko voluntarily enlisted in the Ukrainian army in March 2022. At first, he served in the 128 th mountain assault brigade for over two years, then transferred into Special Operation Forces.

On October 2, 2025, Vasyl “Beirut” Khomko (45) was killed in action while shielding his group’s retreat.

Eduard Pavlov was born on May 19, 1972, in Sumy. As a musician, he graduated from Sumy D. S. Bortnianskyi Higher School of Culture and Arts. After having relocated to Kyiv, he worked as a sound engineer at Docker Pub and Gram. He cooperated with many Ukrainian rock and electronic musicians.

As reported by family and colleagues, Eduard Pavlov (53) died on November 30, 2025.

Vadym (Dima) Tupchii was born on 13 December 1959 in Kyiv; his parents were both engineers. He graduated from a professional college as a coppersmith. He worked at Kyiv wind music instrument factory for a year and studied at Kyiv Engineering and Construction Institute. He worked as a dummy master at Scientific Research Institute of Technical Aesthetic, later – as a decorator and props master at Kyiv Academic Theatre of Drama and Comedy on the left bank of Dnieper. Tupchii was an actor with the amateur employee theater of the UkrCabel plant. He graduated from Kyiv Variety Circus College and worked as an actor at Odesa Phylarmonic and Kyiv theater Sharzh (Cartoon). He was a co-creator of theatrical song band Shlyapa (Hat). He played many musical instruments, including guitar and fipple flute.

“Apart from being an actor, I was also a props master in a band and a theater, but since 1990s, I worked mostly as a craftsman. My favourite projects were those what let me unite both professions. I liked working at the Dovhonosyky Show,” he once recalled in an interview.

Tupchii worked as a decorator for theater and cinema projects, actively cooperated with Ukrainian actor and producer Viktor Andriienko.

On 25 November 2025, 65-year-old Vadym Tupchii was killed at his place in Kyiv due to a massive missile attack.

Halyna Kalachnyk was born in 1950. For 44 years, she had been working as a teacher of Ukrainian literature in the Lyceum №1 of Horodnia (Chernihiv region). She was incredibly committed to developing her students’ creative skills.

On 18 November 2025, the town of Horodnia was massively shelled by Russian drones. Halyna Kalachnyk was killed by a drone’s direct hit of her house. 72-yeaar-old nurse Olha Tupyk was killed together with her.

Iryna Chornenka lived in Ternopil and worked as an elementary school teacher and copy editor with the Bohdan Publishing House. She was born on 27 October 1967 in the village of Kokhanivka, Ternopil region. She graduated from Dubno teachers’ college, then from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. For over 10 years she worked in Korets public school in the Rivne region; she also edited of the All-Ukrainian Independent Paper Charivnytsia. As a gifted methodologist, she created study books for the Bohdan Publishing House, where she had also worked as a copy editor since 1 December 2000.

Iryna Chornenka was 58 years of age when she died in a massive Russian missile shelling of Ternopil. This happened on 19 November 2025.

Kostiantyn Huzenko was born on 27 January 1997. He graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic University as a video, audio and film engineer. He worked as a photographer, media producer, and he made podcasts.

Since 2020, he cooperated with the Ukraïner creative company, whose activity is focused on Ukrainian cultural projects. Since the beginning of Russia´s full-scale invasion, he had documented the stories from de-occupied localities and worked with the War Archive project.

Kostiantyn Huzenko served as a staff sergeant of the 35 th separate marine brigade. He was killed on 1 November 2025 in the Dnipro region due to a deliberate Russian ballistic strike on the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yevhen Karmazin was 33 years of age when he died due to the Lancet drone shelling of a civilian car together with his colleague, journalist Olena Hubanova. It happened on 23 October 2025.

Olena Hubanova, aka Olena Hramova, was born on 25 June 1982 in Yenakiieve, Donetsk region. She grew up in Kramatorsk. Since the years of her studies, she had worked as a journalist, and she began her career as a presenter at the Melody radio station. Later, she worked in the local media, including regional TV channels.

Since March 2021, Olena had worked at the Dim TV channel. In 2022, she began covering the topic of war. In June 2023, she was awarded the Third-Class Order of Princess Olha.

Olena Hubanova was 43 years of age when she died due to the Lancet drone shelling of her civilian car.

On 28 March 2023, Volodymyr enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 37 th separate signal regiment and performed combat missions within the ranks of the 35 th separate marine brigade.

For 11 months of 2024, Volodymyr had been considered missing. Later, his death was confirmed by a DNA expertise. 41-year-old Volodymyr Ilchenko was killed in action on 1 December 2024 near Sontsevka in the Donetsk region.

Since 2010, he had worked at the department of complex reprography of the National Volodymyr Vernadskyi Library of Ukraine.

On 17 June 2024, Artem Toropov was mobilized in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a radiotelegraph operator within the ranks of the 152 nd separate mechanized brigade. His call sign was “Librarian”.

36-year-old Artem Toropov was killed in action near Selydove (Donetsk region). He was considered missing for a while; later, his death was confirmed by a DNA expertise.

Illia Mashnin was born on 29 June 1999 in Kramatorsk. His mother was a pianist, and he was raised in music environment. He studied at music school, played percussion instruments, participated in numerous concerts and contests. Along with music, he also did sports and was a successful kickboxer.

Illia Mashnin graduated from Luhansk Art and Culture Academy as a percussionist. He also was a gifted teacher. He worked at music schools in Kramatorsk and Kyiv, and his students genuinely enjoyed his lessons.

In September 2024, Illia enlisted in the 80 th separate assault brigade. His call sign was “Drummer”. He was a drone operator in a sniper company.

25-year-old Illia Mashnin was killed in action on 21 December 2024 in the Kursk direction. He was posthumously awarded the 3rd grade Order for Courage.

Leonid Pavliuk was born on 20 January 1964 in Lutsk. He graduated from Lutsk Pedagogical University as a historian, then taught in the Rozhyshche Lyceum for more than 30 years.

At the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he voluntarily enlisted in the Territorial Defense Forces, later became a driver and radiotelephone operator in the ranks of the 2 nd separate rifle battalion. After the training, the battalion went to defend Ukraine at its eastern border in Krasnyi Lyman, Donetsk region, on May 19-19, 2022.

It was in Krasnyi Lyman that one of the first and bloodiest battles since the beginning of the full-scale war took place. Leonid Pavliuk went out of touch on 23 May 2022. In June, Russians informed his family about his probable captivity.

As a POW, Leonid Pavliuk was first held in the town of Staryi Oskol, then in Tula oblast, later – in the Zubovo-Polianskyi district of Mordovia. Together with 15-17 other POWs, Leonid was forced to stand motionless, with his arms raised, in a tiny room for 15 hours in a row. Due to lack of medical aid, he often fainted.

Due to inadequate healthcare, Leonid Pavliuk died in Russian captivity on 1 September 2023 at 59 years of age. In October 2023, his body was returned to Ukraine in the course of another exchange. He was only identified via DNA expertise and finally returned home on 8 June 2024.

Oleksandr Urvantsev was born on 26 July 1989 in the town of Mena (Chernihiv region). He graduated from the Chernihiv National Pedagogical University as a gym teacher.

Since 2017, Oleksandr worked at the Chernihiv TV channel Dytynets. Shortly before the full-scale invasion, he shifted to an all-Ukrainian project but chose to return to Chernihiv in March 2022 to cover the warfare. Together with his colleagues, he filmed the consequences of the Russian attack during the siege of Chernihiv,
especially destroyed apartment blocks, schools and hospitals.

In September 2024, he voluntarily enlisted in the 3 rd separate assault brigade. 36-year-old Oleksandr Urvantsev was killed in action on 7 October 2025 in the Kharkiv region.

Andrii Niskubin was born on 3 October 1991 in Kryvyi Rih. He combined his talent of musician and actor with his volunteer activities, especially through his participation in art and education projects of the civic and cultural center Shelter Plus.

In 2023, Andrii Niskubin enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He got wounded in two years’ time. On 17 September 2025, Russian forces stroke the Ukrainian positions with aerial bomb when Andrii was on duty. He is forever 33.

Oleksandr Gatiyatullin was born on 29 October 1974 in Mariupol. He was a civic activist, human rights defender, and journalist. He was a co-founder and the first head of board, then board member of the NGO Ukraine Without Tortures. For a long time, Gatiyatullin was the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Comissioner for Human Rights in places of detention. He worked as a human rights defender, journalist, and monitor for the national prevention mechanism.

Oleksandr Gatiyatullin also coordinated one of the activity lines at the Mariupol Youth Association and
managed projects at the charitable organization Club for the Future.

In March 2022, Gatiyatullin enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He worked his way up from private to sergeant first class, from driver to a firefighter platoon commander, from cadet of a tactic medicine school to combat medic. He completed combat missions in the Donetsk and Sumy directions and was awarded a range of honors, including a commemorative medal of the 43 rd separate artillery brigade, the badge “Veteran of the War”, and the Cross of Valor medal from Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.

50-year-old Oleksandr Gatiyatullin was killed in action on 16 September 2025 while defending independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Kostiantyn Ponomarenko was born in 1990. As a historian, he graduated from Kyiv Mohyla Academy (MA in Jewish Studies).

At the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he served in rear units, then transferred to a combat one. At the beginning of 2024, he fought within the ranks of the 425 th separate assault battalion.

Together with his unit, Kostiantyn Ponomarenko fought in the Pokrovsk direction. In March 2024, he got out of touch after a combat mission. For over a year, he had been considered missing. In September 2025, the DNA expertise confirmed Kostiantyn Ponomarenko’s death. He was 34 years old.

Dmytro Pasichnyk was born in 1992 in Zaporizhzhia. He graduated from Lviv Ivan Franko National University. In 2018, he entered a BA program in Choreography at the faculty of culture and arts. In 2022, he continued his studies at the MA program.

Since October 2024, Dmytro had worked in the ballet troupe of Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. In June 2025, he voluntarily enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

32-year-old Dmytro Pasichnyk was killed in action on 14 September 2025.

Svitlana Semeikina was born in 2005 in the Matviivka community of the Zaporizhzhia region. She graduated from the local school and was a young musician: she played guitar in the band Similar Girls that she launched together with her best friend Kristina Spitsyna.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the girls sang in support of the Ukrainian army. On 9 August 2025, they got under missile shelling during their performance in Zaporizhzhia. 18-year-old Svitlana Semeikina died on the spot.

For their commitment, the musicians were posthumously awarded the Muzvar Award-2023.

Kristina Spitsyna was born on 15 June 2022 in the Matviivka community of the Zaporizhzhia region. She graduated from the local school and was a young musician: first, she sang solo, then formed a duo with her best friend Svitlana Semeikina. Together they launched the band Similar Girls. Since the beginning of
the full-scale war, the girls sang in support of the Ukrainian army.

On 9 August 2025, they got under missile shelling during their performance in Zaporizhzhia. On 10 August 2025, 21-year-old Kristina Spitsyna died in the hospital.

For their commitment, the musicians were posthumously awarded the Muzvar Award-2023.

Volodymyr “Podolian” Shcherba was born on 2 October 1994 in Vinnytsia. He graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic University, but it was cultural work that became his genuine vocation. He was actively involved in cultural and civic life of Vinnytsia: he co-founded the Plai artistic association and Pich space, organized art projects and festivals Ticket to the Sun and Air Gogol Fest.

Volodymyr Shcherba enlisted in the army in spring 2025. He fought in the Sumy direction within the ranks of the 80 th separate air assault brigade as a drone operator of the attack unmanned aircraft complexes Foxtrot. He had his last fight on 5 September 2025. Volodymyr “Podolyan” Shcherba was 30 years old.

Andrii Synyshyn was born on 19 October 1998 in the village of Rozvoriany, Lviv region. He graduated from Lviv Ivan Franko National University (department of theater studies and acting, faculty of culture and arts). Afterwards, he worked at the National Academic Ukrainian Maria Zankovetska Drama Theater, Lviv Academic Les Kurbas Theater, and Lviv Academic Theater of Variety Miniatures “Both People and
Puppets”.

Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, Andrii Synyshyn (call sign “Stus”) stood up to defend his country within the ranks of the 103 rd brigade; later, he transferred to the 80 th Galician air assault brigade and changed his call sign to “Absurd”. In the army, he made a video that is now used in the dramatic performance Christmas. Feast that still runs in the “Both People and Puppets” theater.

Andrii Synyshyn was 26 years old. He was killed at the frontline, near Yunakivka in the Sumy direction, on 16 April 2025. From April 16 to September 11 2025, he had been considered missing.

Denys Ponomarenko was born on 14 May 1982. He worked as a cameraman for one of the biggest Ukrainian production companies, Starlight Media, and STB TV channel. During 2009-2021, he worked on the projects
such as Battle of Telepathists, X Factor, Ukraine Has Got Talent, Everybody Dance!, Phenomenon, CUBE, Lie Detector, Hearts of the Three, Mole, Telepathists Investigating.

In February 2022, since the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in Ukraine, Denys voluntarily enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a gunner unit’s commander and received two badges of honor. On 7 August 2025, Denys Ponomarenko was killed in action in the Kharkiv region. He was 43 years old.

Yaroslav Levytskyi was born on 20 November 1985 in Chernivtsi. He was actively involved in developing cultural and educational initiatives; thus, for example, he worked with the international festival MERIDIAN CZERNOWITZ. He also worked with 5 TV channel and TRC ACC as a cameraman. Later, he became a co-founder and co-owner of the Contrabanda bar in Chernivtsi.

Since the very beginning of the full-scale war in 2022, Yaroslav Levytskyi enlisted in the Territorial Defense Forces in the region of Chernivtsi.

By the end of October 2024, he was transferred to a military unit in the Pokrovsk direction. Since 12 November 2024, Yaroslav was considered missing. On 8 September 2025, his family received confirmation of a match with his DNA.
Yaroslav Levytskyi died for the unity of Ukraine at the age of 38.

Yevhen Vyshnevskyi was born on 1 October 1992. He worked as a sound engineer on TV and film production. Among his works, there are TV series Carlos in Ukraine (2023), Female Secrets (2020) and scripted reality Kyiv by Day and Night (2016).

He enlisted in the 3 rd assault brigade (2 nd battalion, Valknut). Vyshnevskyi went on a combat mission on 28 May 2025, and he had been considered missing since 10 June 2025. At the end of August 2025, his family was officially informed of his death. Yevhen Vyshnevskyi was 32 years old.

Vira Tulupova was born on 18 June 1954. She was actively involved in renovation of amateur art and studying Ukrainian folklore. She was part of the folklore dance and music ensemble Hromytsia within the Center of Arts and Culture in Darnytskyi district of Kyiv.

On 28 August 2025, she was killed in the massive missile attack of Kyiv. Vira Tulupova was 71 years old.

Ihor Naumenko was born on 7 November 1982. He graduated from Kyiv Mykhailo Boichuk State Academy of Arts, Crafts, and Design. He worked as a potter, and he was actively involved in Ukrainian festival movement and in revitalizing of traditional crafts.

In April 2022, Naumenko enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he was promoted to senior gunner of a mortar battery within the ranks of the 7 th battalion of the 114 th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces.

On 27 August, he was severely wounded in action while repelling an enemy attack. He was given medical aid, but still, his heart stopped beating during evacuation. Ihor Naumenko was 42 years old.

Circumstances of death: During service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Kyrylo Gryniov was born on 28 December 1982. As an artist, he belonged to the artistic association R. E. P. (“Revolutionary Experimental Premises”) – its participants worked with contemporary art as a part of political and social discourse.


Kyrylo Gryniov voluntarily enlisted in the army in February 2022, after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. In 2024, he was wounded in action near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. His death was reported by his brothers in arms. Kyrylo Gryniov was 42 years old.

David Chichkan was born on 15 April 1986 in Kyiv to the couple of artists Illia
Chichkan and Tetiana Illiakhova.
His artistic career began in the early 2000s. Chichkan considered art as a tool of social and political criticism. He called himself not an artist but a “draftsman” and worked in genres such as graphics, painting, street art, performance, and text. He defined his target audience as workers, not elite galleries.

In his art, he focused on social and political issues. Chichkan was an author of various simple political posters. He thought text was the best way to convey a judgment, that’s why the text part had always been of great importance in his works.

David Chichkan illustrated the Administrative Code of Ukraine, created project designs and installations, participated in Kyiv and Odesa biennales. His works were exhibited in Ukraine and worldwide.

David Chichkan was severely injured at the Zaporizhzhia direction while repelling an assault by the enemy infantry on 8 August 2025. He passed away on the morning of 10 August at the age of 39.

Maryna Hrytsenko was born on 26 May 1986 in the village of Ripky, Chernihiv region. She graduated from the department of history of the National Taras Shevchenko Chernihiv Collegium University.
In 2021, she joined the Ukrainian Plast and became a scribe at the headquarters in Chernihiv. She had an interest in music and Ukrainian historical ritualism.
Since 2008, Hrytsenko had worked as a researcher (later – senior researcher and chief collection keeper) at Chernihiv Regional Art Museum.
At the beginning of Russian full-scale invasion and the siege of Chernihiv she came to live in the museum to protect the collection against the possibility of looting.
In February 2023, Maryna enlisted in the 3 rd separate assault brigade as a rifleman and medic. She took part in liberation of the Kharkiv region. In January 2025, her merits to Ukraine were rewarded with the Order for Courage.
At the age of 39, Maryna was killed in action by an enemy drone. This happened on 7 August 2025.

Circumstances of death: During service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ihor Klymovych was born on 13 June 1991 in the village of Hrabovets, Lviv region. He graduated from the Markiyan Shashkevych lyceum in Duliby, then studied at the department of tourism of Carpathian National University.
He published several collections of his poetry. During the last decade, Ihor Klymovych lived in Kyiv.
In 2012, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada with the Ukrainian National assembly party.
He participated in the Revolution of Dignity. Ihor Klymovych founded the sports club Bellator and history club Zastava. He travelled across Ukraine a lot, collected antiquities and had an interest in the culture of the Ancient Rus and Medieval times.
He was the first Ukrainian to participate in EXARC – an international network connecting people involved with experimental archaeological research. Together with his colleagues from the Zastava history club, he annually participated in the Tustan festival as a reenactor of the Viking culture in Rus.

In 2021, Klymovych won the audience award in the contest Travelling Photographer of the Year and presented his photo exhibition A Man and the War, consisting of 48 b/w photographs made at the frontline, in the town of Stryi. He also worked on costumes for Natalka Vorozhbyt’s movie Demons.
In 2022, Ihor Klymovych enlisted in the Cornet Service of the 3 rd separate assault brigade. He developed techniques of moral and psychological support, gave lectures, organized trips and meetings with cultural activists for the military.
He was also involved in the evacuation of cultural heritage. Together with his colleagues from the 3 rd separate assault brigade, he saved a 900-year-old Polovtsian grave statue from the Donetsk region and evacuated it to the Dmytro Yavornytsky National Historical Museum of Dnipro.

In February 2025, Klymovych received the rank of second lieutenant.
Ihor Klymovych took his last fight on 30 July in the Kharkiv region. He was 34 years old.

Yaroslav Shvets was born into a well-known artistic family in Irpin. He appeared in a small but memorable role in the film Redaktsiya (The Editorial Office). Off screen, he worked with a team of pyrotechnicians and also performed in theatrical productions.

On May 2, Yaroslav was wounded in action. His comrades evacuated him and transported him to a clinic in Dortmund. On May 9, he died from his injuries.

Puppeteer Vladyslav Zakharenko was killed during the liberation of the city of Izium. In 2017, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Professional College of Arts and Culture. For some time, he worked as a puppeteer at the Kryvyi Rih theater. He dreamed of acting in movies.

Maks Levin graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and immediately began working as a photojournalist, documentary photographer, and cameraman for various media outlets. Most of his work was dedicated to documenting the consequences of Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

He worked with Hromadske, LB.ua, and also collaborated with The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, BBC, Breaking News Poland, EU Agenda, World News, ELLE, TV-24, Radio Bulgaria, Ukraine Crisis Media Center, Vatican News, and Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).

Contact with Levin was lost on March 13. On April 1, police discovered the photojournalist’s body with gunshot wounds in the Kyiv region.

Maks Levin is survived by four underage sons, a partner, and elderly parents.

While transporting a vehicle for defenders in the Sumy region, tenor of the Odesa National Opera Vladyslav Horai was killed. He was born into a family of professional musicians, studied at the Vinnytsia Pedagogical Institute and the Odesa Conservatory, in the latter of which he taught after graduation.

Since 1993, Horai had been a member of the opera troupe of the Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. He was a laureate of the National Chamber Music Competition in Khmelnytskyi and the International Antonín Dvořák Vocal Competition in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. He toured many world capitals, promoting Ukrainian culture and art. Since 2013, he held the title of Merited Artist of Ukraine (a state honorary title of decoration recognizing outstanding achievement in the performing arts).

In June 2025, the artist traveled north of Ukraine to help the wounded, clear debris, and evacuate civilians from areas under threat. A fatal car accident cut his journey short – he never returned home.

Stanislav Humeniuk was born in 1966. He lived in the village of Novobratske, Zhytomyr region. He was an activist, singer, composer, teacher, photographer, and volunteer. Stanislav Humeniuk launched the initiative Save the Polissia!

From the year 2018 to 2021 he worked at the Chornobyl conservation area, later – at the state specialized enterprise Eco Center. In 2024, he enlisted in the 153 rd separate mechanized brigade as a sergeant major.
On 22 June 2005, Stanislav Humenik was killed in a missile shelling of the Kherson region at the age of 59.

Dmytro Hornov was born in the town of Dniprorudne, the region of Zaporizhzhia.
Later, his family moved to Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region. Dmytro graduated from
Nizhyn State Mykola Gogol University.
Since his studies, Dmytro had been actively involved in civic life in his town and
university. He was a frontman and author of songs performed by his rock band Vyriy.
In 2018, the band released an album, Edges of Oneiromancy. The same year,
Dmytro moved to Chernihiv and joined the local Suspilne team as a sound engineer.
Dmytro Hornov took part in creating various culture-related projects. He hosted the program To Play or Not to Play at the Ukrainian Radio Chernihiv. The program was dedicated to children’s music education. Dmytro was also part of the team of the documentary The Battle of Chernihiv.
In April 2024, he enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Dmytro received military training in the UK and finished the course on 3 June 2024.
In November, he was appointed to the position of a gunman in a unit specializing in collective destruction of the enemy. After a sergeants’ training course, Dmytro became an instructor at the training reserve operational staff battalion. In May 2025, he received the rank of second lieutenant. He commanded a platoon at the 158 th separate mechanized brigade.
Dmytro Hornov was killed in action on 21 June 2025 near Sumy. He was 30 years old.

Maksym Sirosh was born on 17 September 1984 in Kyiv. In 2003-2004, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the town of Bila Tserkva. Later he worked in the restaurant business and studied at the acting school of the SPLASH theater studio. He was employed at the Khort creative union, was a stuntman, organized historical festivals and events, designed ammunition and backdrop for filmmaking. In 2019, he played a supporting role in the Ukrainian feature movie Interlineal, directed by Anton Chystiakov and Roman Krasnoshchok.

After 24 February 2022, Maksym Sirosh took up arms voluntarily to defend Ukraine at the frontline. He enlisted in the 25th separate rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served as the command sergeant major of machine gun branch of a rifle company.

Senior ensign Maksym Sirosh (call signs “Septon” and “Chubchyk”) was killed at 37 years of age near the town of Siversk in the Donetsk region. In a battle with Russian occupiers, he saved his battalion at the cost of his life.

For his distinguished military service, he was awarded the medal “Honor. Glory. State”, the Medal for Military Service to Ukraine (posthumously) and the Order for Courage (posthumously).

Yevheniia Bazylevych was a marketing manager, yoga and Ayurveda teacher. As a perfume designer, she developed the Telegram channel Aesthetic Muse: A Sensor Project, which she defined as a space for “creative experiments with tastes and odors, reflections and self-knowledge through aesthetics”. Her posts motivated the audience to search for harmony and beauty of daily routines and contained many facts and observations from the world of perfume art.

Yevheniia was also a jewelry designer. Her craft was represented on her Instagram page barvysta_jewelry, each post complemented with brief descriptions of the author’s techniques, materials, and ideas. In her work, Yevheniia experimented with forms, textures, and ways of interpreting traditional Ukrainian jewelry.

Yevheniia Bazylevych died in a missile shelling of Lviv together with her daughters Yaryna (21), Daryna (18) and Emilia (7). She was 43 years old.

Daryna was a second-year student at the Ukrainian Catholic University where she did culture studies, the university fellow and mentor of the Volunteering Laboratory. She was a culture popularizer and host of motivational events for high-school students.

At the age of 12, she played a part in a short film, Patch. Daryna had participated in the theater studio Ptakh (“Bird”) and belonged to the Ukrainian Plast since the age of 7.

In her motivation letter for receiving the UCU scholarship, she mentioned that she had chosen culture studies because she was “a very creative person interested in her country’s culture and history and willing to develop Ukrainian culture and contribute to making it world famous in the future”.

18-year-old Daryna died together with her sisters Yaryna and Emilia and mother Yevheniia.

Yaryna died at 21 years of age together with her sisters Daryna and Emilia and mother Yevheniia.

Vitalii Kokoshko was born in 1966. He began his career at Odesa Film Studio where he worked his way up from being a night driver of the crew to becoming the executive producer. In 1998, he established the advertising agency Kinograf that became renowned for its creative and lapidary works. He documented the events of the Orange Revolution as a filmmaker. His Ukrainian and foreign colleagues had often used that footage of his in their works.

Kokoshko’s creative agency had won over 350 prizes at numerous advertising festivals including Cannes Lions, Epica, Eurobest, Golden Drum and Golden Hammer. Vitalii himself was a winner of seven grand prizes and 43 awards from EFFIE Ukraine.

Kinograf agency was trice recognized as the year’s best effective agency in Ukraine.

At the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Vitalii Kokoshko enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He fell for Ukraine on 24 February 2025 at the age of 58.

Yurii Felipenko was born on 8 May 1993 in Zaporizhzhia. In 2015, he graduated from Kyiv National Karpenko-Karyi University of Theater, Cinema and TV as an actor and drama director (training course curated by Yurii Vysotskyi and Yevhen Loktionov). In 2016, he joined the team of Kyiv Academic Drama Theater on Podil where he had played over 20 parts. He had also worked at the Stigma theater studio and was involved in dubbing foreign movies. He was a many-time nominee for the Kyiv Art Prize as a theater actor.

Yurii Felipenko made his first appearance on screen in 2014. He became popular after starring in TV series such as The Color of Passion and A Promise to God. He also appeared in the series Department 44 and What Your Wife Does.

In April 2024, Yurii Felipenko enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died on 15 June 2025, while performing a combat mission within the Achilles Separate Regiment of the Unmanned Systems of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. He was 32 years old.

Mykhailo Klymchenko was born on 17 April 1975 to the famous artist couple of Tetyana Dedkovska and Serhii Klymchenko. In 1997, he graduated from Kyiv National Karpenko-Karyi University of Theater, Cinema and TV as an actor (training course curated by Anatolii Pazenko and Mykhailo Reznikovych).

In the 1990s, he worked as an artist at the National Lesya Ukrainka Theater. Later, he began his career as a monumental artist. He was involved in creating decorative and thematic stained-glass windows, mosaics for churches and private residences.

Mykhailo Klymchenko belonged to the National Artists’ Union of Ukraine. In 2009, he ended up the winner of the International Contest of Glass Craft VitroProfi.

Mykhailo Klymchenko’s most famous works include:

  • mosaic Archangel Michael in the church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Putyvl (2000)
  • triptych St. John the Baptist on the Jordan River in Kharkiv (2006)
  • mosaic Savior Not-Made-With-Hands in the church of the Holy Resurrection (Kryvi Kolina village, Cherkasy region, 2007)
  • mosaics in the sanctuary arches of the church of the Holy Trinity in the Kytaiv Hermitage (Kyiv, 2012)
  • stained-glass windows for the church of the Hier Martyr Oleksandr, Archbishop of Kharkiv (2007-2010)

On 15 June 2025, Mykhailo Klymchenko died from combat wounds in the hospital. He was 50 years old.

Ukrainian actor, TV presenter and military serviceman Maksym Nelipa was killed at the frontline. He was a showman and host of Ukrainian TV projects such as Lose a Million (ICTV), Who Is It? (UT1, 1+1), People’s Star (Ukraine TV Channel). He also participated in projects such as Dance with Stars and Diesel Show. After the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Maksym Nelipa enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 14th separate regiment of the unmanned aviation complexes within the Unmanned System Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a company commander and a senior lieutenant. Maksym Nelipa died at the age of 48.

Viktor Voinykov, performer, choreographer and art director of the dance theater Equator at Chernihiv Regional Philharmonic Center, was killed in action. His creative life was closely bound up with Chernihiv Regional Philharmonic Center. Viktor Voinykov was a ballet artist of the academic song and dance ensemble Siversk Kleinods and a ballet artist of the Academic Folk Choir.

In 2023, Viktor Voinykov, then the art director of the dance theater Equator and head of the regional department of the National Choreographers’ Union of Ukraine, enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He was killed while performing his combat duties.

Actor of the Dnipro Ukrainian Youth Theater Maksym Kovtun was killed in fight for Ukraine. He voluntarily enlisted in the army at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Maksym Kovtun performed in both adult and children’s plays. Thus, he participated in the Players show based on the work by Mykola Gogol, played the leading role in the dramatic performance Aesop, and worked in over a dozen puppet and classic children’s shows.

Accordionist Halyna Oleksiv was killed on July 14, 2022, during Russian missile attack on Vinnytsia. Halyna graduated from Vinnytsia M. Leontovych Culture and Arts College. Later she moved to Lviv where she taught at the department of folk instruments of the National M. Lysenko Music Academy.

Dmytro Buival served as a senior operating platoon officer of the 2nd anti-tank unit at the fire support squadron. In his civilian life, Dmytro was engaged in implementing street art of living statues and developed the art of fire shows in Ukraine.

Among Dmytro’s creative projects there were fire theater Initia, fire theater Yarovit, Concordia art group, Artil Myth artistic union.

In 2017 and 2019 Dmytro Buival was listed among the world top 50 artists according to the World living statues Аrnhem (Netherlands). In 2018, he was recognized as one of the top 30 artists according to the living statues championship that took place in the UK. In 2020, he won the All-Ukrainian Street Art Festival.

He was an inspirer of the Kharytonenko Fest in his native city of Sumy.

Vasyl Marmus, musician and serviceman of the 80th separate air assault brigade, was killed in action on September 12, 2022, during de-occupation of the Kharkiv region. He played musical instruments such as accordion, bandura, harmonica, and trombone. He was part of the Octava band and a member of Ternopil Film Commission (2021). Vasyl’s dream was to establish an affiliate of the commission in Chortkiv. He played the role of an NKVD officer in the national non-feature film Maria (2021).

Vasyl Marmus actively participated in the Revolution of Dignity (2013-2014). His father is a famous Ukrainian dissident Volodymyr Marmus. In 2022, shortly before the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Vasyl devoted his song Brothers in Captivity («Брати по неволі») to his father. Vasyl Marmus died at the age of 30.

Pylyp Stakhov, musician and civic activist from Chernivtsi, was killed in September 2024.

Pylyp “Phil” Stakhov fought within the ranks of the Albin unit from Bukovina, which is part of the 12th Special Forces brigade Azov.

In Chernivtsi, Pylyp was known as a member of the local music band RUTA.band. He also was a civic activist: it was him, in particular, who established the military area in the Yurii Fedkovych Park in Chernivtsi.

Bohdan Nemtsov, musician of the academic symphonic orchestra with the Zaporizhzhia Regional Philharmonic, was killed in action in Sumy region on March 18, 2025.

Bohdan was born in the town of Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2013, he graduated from Zaporizhzhia P. Maiboroda Music College and continued studies at Dnipropetrovsk Music Academy. In 2017, Bohdan joined the group of alts of the academic symphonic orchestra with the Zaporizhzhia Regional Philharmonic. As part of the orchestra, he participated in creating multi-genre classic programs and thematic concert cycles.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Bohdan Nemtsov was killed at the age of 32.

Artist, poet and cultural activist Hennadii “Genyk” Havryliv died on April 3 due to a combat injury.

Hennadii Havryliv was actively involved in the cultural life of Ivano-Frankivsk. He worked in the sphere of design, literature and performative art, was a co-founder of various art initiatives, wrote poetry, painted pictures and had his unique author’s style.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Havryliv enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a cook in one of the airmobile brigades, later became a gunner in a combat unit. In 2023, he was wounded in Bakmut. Havryliv returned to the frontline in autumn 2024 as a rifleman in the 128th separate mountain assault brigade. In 2025, he received shrapnel and gunshot injuries. The fighter died on April 3 in a Kyiv hospital.

Ukrainian artist and military servicewoman Marharyta Polovinko was killed in action on April 5.

In 2012-2015, Marharyta studied visual arts at Dnipropetrovsk Theater and Art College. Later she graduated as a painter from the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture. Her early works – figures nearly disappearing in space, fluid lines, atmosphere of eloquent silence – appeal to Slavic mythology and folklore. Since 2023, Marharyta had trained to be a paramedic and kept her diary hand-drawn in blood. She wanted to finish it after the war would end by giving people an opportunity to wash the blood off the drawings. Since 2024, she had been actively involved in evacuating the wounded defenders on med evacs. Later she joined the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 3rd separate assault brigade.

On April 13, musician and teacher Olena Kohut was killed in Russian missile attack on the city of Sumy. She was an organ soloist at Sumy National M. Shchepkin Theater and a teacher at Sumy Art College. Apart from teaching and practicing music, Olena Kohut often performed abroad: she played Ukrainian anthem in historical churches of Europe to popularize her native culture.

Андрій здобув музичну освіту у Ніжинському державному університет імені Миколи Гоголя. Став учасником Академічного камерного хору "Хрещатик", також співав у церковному хорі в Бучі.

Оксана Андріянова працювала в Центральній бібліотеці Краматорська з серпня 1994 року. Була авторкою багатьох ініціатив, що організовувалися в бібліотеці, залучала нових читачів. Останні роки працювала здебільшого з молодіжною аудиторією. Неодноразово відзначалася  подяками Центральної міської публічної бібліотеки, Управління з гуманітарних питань Краматорської міської ради.

Книжка його авторства під назвою "Дідові історії" вийшла 2018 року у видавництві "Орієнтир". Це збірка віршів для дітей, яка оповідає про наших предків. З початком повномасштабного вторгнення вступив до лав ЗСУ у складі 78-го окремого десантно-штурмового полку.

Загинув у віці 38 років.

Під час виконання бойового завдання під Бахмутом загинув внаслідок того, що біля нього вибухнув снаряд. У листопаді 2022 року пішов добровольцем у ЗСУ. Служив на посаді стрільця-санітара у 77 аеромобільній бригаді, з кінця січня 2023 року почав виходити на бойові завдання під Бахмутом.

Педагог, науковець, історик, громадсько-політичний діяч Любомир Крупа загинув під час виконання бойового завдання на Харківщині. Вважався офіційно зниклим безвісти. Загибель підтверджена рішенням Тернопільського міськрайонного суду 6 березня 2024 року. Був одним з організаторів та першим головою студентського науково-пошукового товариства "Обереги", координатором студентського дискусійного клубу "Діалог", членом УНА-УНСО, культурно-просвітницького товариства "Вертеп".У 2004 році став кандидатом історичних наук зі спеціальності "Історія України". Автор 28 наукових статей, тез і публікацій. Одразу після початку повномасштабного вторгнення став на захист України. Службу розпочав у 105-й окремій бригаді тероборони, ставши солдатом-кулеметником.

Зокрема, мав персональну виставку фотографій "Чорнобиль ‒ нагадування для живих". Досліджував підземний Київ, любив подорожувати в Чорнобильській зоні. З початком повномасштабного російського вторгнення приєднався до лав столичної ТРО. Став бійцем 204-го окремого батальйону територіальної оборони Збройних Сил України, де обіймав посаду кулеметника.

З 2016 року брав участь у літературних, музично-поетичних вечорах. Активний учасник харківського літературного слему. Був організатором літературного батлу у період, коли слем не відбувався. Його запамʼятали як енергійного, артистичного та різностороннього митця. З початком повномасштабного вторгнення пішов захищати Україну.

Під час виконання бойового завдання загинув літературознавець, журналіст, поет та військовий Микола Рачок. Він вивчав філологію, а потім – літературознавство у Києво-Могилянській Академії. Також працював випусковим редактором науково-популярного журналу "Куншт". З початком повномасштабної війни служив у складі 58-ї окремої мотопіхотній бригади імені гетьмана Івана Виговського. У пам'ять про Миколу його родина відкрила у Вінниці книгарню "Герої".

Later, it became known that the writer's son had been released, but there was no information confirming Volodymyr's whereabouts. Contact with Vakulenko's family was restored in September, when Ukrainian military forces liberated Izyum region. Then it was possible to find out that on March 22, Russian occupiers first came to the Vakulenkos' yard: they took away the family's phones, documents, and Ukrainian literature. The next day, they took Volodymyr himself along with his minor son Vitaly, who has been diagnosed with "autism". The writer was stripped naked, his tattoos checked, and beaten. On March 23, Volodymyr and his son were released. He managed to bury his war diary under a cherry tree in his yard. At 11 a.m. on March 24, a bus with the "Z" sign drove up to the Vakulenkos' house. and the sliding doors were torn off. The writer was seized, thrown into a bus and taken towards Izyum. Since then, there has been no news about him.
